Gateshead Volunteers' Month

June 2018

This June will be our sixth year celebrating the fantastic contribution made by all the volunteers of Gateshead. As usual throughout June, there will be lots going on to whet your appetite and encourage you to take that first step to becoming a volunteer for Gateshead.

Details of volunteering events and activities across the borough for this years’ event are currently being co-ordinated and we’ll include details nearer the time.

Volunteers’ Month 2018 Grants available for community groups - register your interest today

If you are a community group or organisation and would like some funding support to put on a volunteering event during Volunteers’ Month 2018, you should register your interest now via email for a Volunteers’ Month Grant and you will be sent the relevant information and forms needed from April onwards.

Does your group need volunteers or additional support?

If you are a group or organisation and you would like to discuss:

  • registering your volunteer roles for some of our 1,800 registered individual as well as group volunteering opportunities
  • how we can support you to develop your group’s volunteering roles and recruitment processes please email us.

For general information and advice on volunteering, contact Kate Marshall on 0191 433 3255 or email katemarshall@gateshead.gov.uk

As part of Volunteers' Month we are gathering information on the type of volunteering, and how many hours, you do.
