Individual grants
Gateshead Council’s individual grants scheme is based upon achievement.
Monetary Awards
Awards of £50 to £200 are available for Gateshead residents.
Who is eligible?

A person who finishes in the first four of a Northern Counties Final or is selected to represent such an area will be considered for a £50 sporting award.

A person who finishes in the first four of a National Championships Final will be considered for a sporting award of up to £100.

A person selected for international representation will be considered for a sporting award of up to £200.
A Sports Pass will be automatically issued to all recipients of individual sporting grants.
Sports training passes
These are available to Gateshead residents who have either competed in a final of a County Championship of the National Governing Body of the particular sport, or selected to represent their County Association of the National Governing Body of the particular sport.
A Sports Pass allows free use of the following facilities:

Track at Gateshead International Stadium

Gyms at Birtley Leisure Centre, Gateshead Leisure Centre, Gateshead International Stadium, Dunston Activity Centre, Dunston Pool and Felling Pool

Swimming at Birtley Swimming Pool, Blaydon Swimming Pool, Gateshead Leisure Centre, Dunston Swimming Pool and Felling Swimming Pool
