It can often be tough to meet the costs of starting a new job after being unemployed for a long period of time. We offer grants to help people get started.
Who can apply?
We may be able to help you with Financial Assistance to get you back to work if:

you have been unemployed and need some financial help so you can travel to your new job or buy specialist tools;

If you live in Gateshead and have been out of work
What can you get help with?
As long as your new job is more than 16 hours per week for more than 12 weeks we might be able to help you pay for:

Training

Public Transport
-
Childcare
-
Work clothing

Essential costs of starting employment
We have an eligibility criteria and all applications must be received before you start work or within seven days of doing so.
