Who can apply?
The Card is available to everyone, including non-residents. Perfect if you work, but don't live in Gateshead but still want to take advantage of our fantastic facilities across the borough.

What is Active Access?
Active Access is a discount scheme saving you up to 70% on a wide range of sport and leisure activities in Gateshead. You can swim, use the gym, attend a fitness class, ski, snowboard and much more!
Who is entitled to Active Access?
Active Access is available to Gateshead residents (and their dependents), who are in receipt of any of the following benefits:

Job Seekers Allowance (income based)

Income Support

Severe Disablement Allowance
-
Employment Support Allowance (income based)
-
Carer's Allowance (dependent's discount not available)
-
Incapacity Benefit (long term rate only)

How much does it cost?
Active Access costs £1. All cards must be renewed every 6 months.
How do I get Active Access?
Active Access applicants must get their form stamped by Jobcentre Plus. This is done by sending it to Newcastle BDC, PO Box 633, North Shields, NE29 1BH. They will then verify this form and return it to you.
If you are in receipt of Carer's Allowance, please bring along a letter from the Department of Work and Pensions stating that you are in receipt of it.
