Gateshead International Stadium has a regional, national and international reputation for hosting some of the UK's top sporting events. Providing superb training facilities for talented athletes, sports clubs and the local community, the stadium is a first-rate sports centre, which is accessible to all. Athletics Hall
The indoor athletics hall incorporates a 60m x 6 lane straight (82m hall), throwing cage and vertical and horizontal jumping facilities. For athletics hall bookings contact Gateshead College on 0191 490 2346 or email europa.stadium@gateshead.ac.uk|
Fitness Classes
At Gateshead International Stadium we have the fitness class for you! Whether you’re looking for high impact exercise to burn off calories or a more gentle class to strengthen and tone, there is a full range of fitness classes available for all levels and abilities. Gym
The state of the art fitness room has an extensive range of equipment including cardiovascular, strength and conditioning machines and an integrated free weights area with lifting platforms. The facility is accessible to all with qualified staff available at all times. If you're not already a GO member| make sure you book your induction at Reception and get GOing!

Main Arena & Centre Field
The 400m, eight lane track is made of 3cm tartan synthetic polymer surface. The centre field has a floodlit grass surface, suitable for a variety of activities including athletic field events, football and rugby. Both areas are IAAF standard.
Outdoor Pitches
Two full size 3G pitches, two grass playing areas and a sand dressed artificial pitch, all of which are floodlit.
Sports Hall
The sports hall provides a double court training area of 33m x 43m Floor markings are provided for tennis, badminton, volleyball, basketball, netball and 5-a-side football.
Meeting Rooms
The stadium has multiple meeting rooms for hire. These can be booked at Reception.

Electric Car Charging Points
The North East’s Plugged in Places project (PIP) will create a comprehensive network of electric car charging infrastructure across the North East region within the next three years. At Gateshead International Stadium you will find a rapid charging point allowing a three phase 125A 400V supply. The time taken to fully charge a car with a 50kw rapid charger is 25 minutes.
There is also a standard charging point allowing a single phase 32A 240V supply. The time taken to fully charge a car with a 3kw standard charger is eight hours and with a 7kw standard charger four hours.
