Orienteering at Whickham Thorns
Orienteering truly is a sport for all, at its highest level it demands speed accuracy and decision making, alternatively family groups can enjoy a leisurely stroll around one of our woodland courses without any fear of becoming lost.
Whickham Thorns has a number of permanently laid out orienteering exercises designed to introduce the beginner to this sport with instruction available on map reading skills as well as the art of sport orienteering. Please see the Customer Information leaflet for details and restrictions.
Courses
Beginners Map Reading Skills courses are available throughout the summer months. For details pick up a Summer Programme.
Group Bookings
Orienteering bookings can only take place during daylight hours and bookings are available in one hour slots. Group prices include all equipment and an instructor. All bookings are subject to the Group Booking Conditions and the regulations contained in the Customer Information.

School prices are only available to full time educational establishments whose bookings start before 5pm
