We offer two types of climbing course - Beginners and Introduction to Leading.
Beginners Courses
Beginner courses are available to both adults and juniors. The courses consist of 4 one and a half-hour lessons covering the basics of rock climbing, this includes bouldering, knot tying and belaying.

Those wishing to progress to more advanced techniques such as leading and multi pitch climbing should go on an introduction to leading course.
Introduction to leading courses (over 12's only)
The course will cover different techniques of gear placement and more advanced rope work. This course consists of 3 one and a half-hour sessions and are suitable for those who have experience in top rope climbing and a reasonable level of climbing fitness.

Further outdoor training will also be available to those who have completed an indoor course. This will include a full days rock climbing on natural outdoor rock in some of the most picturesque parts of Northumberland. This will incur additional costs - see staff for details.
Junior Climbing Club
Fridays 6pm – 7.30pm
Open to those aged 12 – 17yrs with a junior competence card that issued when a climbing course has been completed. Regular club sessions using the indoor wall or boulder plus trips to outside crags and other climbing walls are arranged frequently
General Climbing Use
The indoor wall is available for individual use and group hire. Restrictions apply. Ask at reception for details.
