First run in 1911 The Saltwell Road Race is now believed to be England's oldest road race and attracts runners of all ages as well as some of the region's top runners.
All finishers will receive an engraved glass with miniature and refreshment bag.
In 2007 you can help support The Children's ward QE Hospital, Gateshead while you run. You can make a donation with your entry fee, minimum 50p.
The Course
Start on East Park Road and Finish in Saltwell Park. All Junior Races will be held within Saltwell Park.

Collect your race number at registration.
Registration, Changing/Shower and Car Parking will be at Gateshead Leisure Centre, Alexandra Road, Gateshead. Gateshead Leisure Centre will be open from 9.00am.
Race HQ, results and presentation will be held in Saltwell Towers in Saltwell Park.
Additional Car parking will be at Gateshead College
Directions to Start - Turn left at main entrance of Leisure Centre along Alexandra Road. Saltwell Park is on the left, opposite the Little Theatre. Allow 15 minutes to walk form Leisure Centre to Start.
