An Active Card gives you reduced prices on a wide range of activities and facilities in Gateshead. Saving you money on swimming, fitness classes, soft play, 5-a-side, play schemes, climbing and lots, lots more!
The Gateshead Active Card enables you to use your card number to speed up bookings for activities and classes or even use it as a deposit for equipment hire. Plus there will be special offers in the future to enable you to make even more savings.
How much does it cost?
Only £1 for persons 18 years and over, FREE for anybody under 18 years. Replacement cards are £1. Cards cannot be used by anyone else and must be renewed annually.
How to get an Active Card?
Download the application form and take it to any of the facilities listed above. Alternatively ask for a form at any of the above facility receptions. You may be asked to provide proof of your address e.g. a utility bill, Council tax bill etc.

Conditions of use

To receive benefits the card must be shown at time of use and the card number quoted when making telephone bookings.

The card is not transferable and must be renewed annually at a cost of £1.

The fee paid is not refundable.

Lost / damaged or stolen cards can be replaced by paying the appropriate fee at one of the facilities which issues cards.

You must complete an induction for the appropriate activity / facility otherwise access will not be allowed.

Facilities and activities are subject to availability, session times and opening hours.

Gateshead Council reserves the right at its discretion to withdraw an Active Card from any person(s) who misuses the card or who does not confirm to these conditions of use.

Active Card holders are subject to the general establishment rules for all leisure facilities operated by Gateshead Council.

Persons under 16 years must have their parent / guardian’s consent before they can apply for a card.

An Active Card may be left as a deposit fro hires equipment. If equipment is lost or damaged through misuse the card holder will be liable for replacement / repair costs.

Should Active Card holders cancel a booking, 24 hours notice of cancellation will be required or the full fee may be charged.
