Active Kidz



Active Kidz holiday play schemes are available for children and young people aged five to fourteen. There's an exciting variety of activities available ranging from sports, arts and crafts, dance, cookery, drama, messy art and much much more.

All take place in a safe and stimulating environment and are supervised by our dynamic team of experienced play workers.


Monday 10 - Thursday 13 April 9am - 3.30pm Cardinal Hume School
Tuesday 18 – Friday 21 April 9am - 3.30pm Kingsmeadow School

Please note the scheme will not run on Good Friday or Easter Monday. 


Active Kidz costs £59 per child per 4 day week or £14.75 per child per day.

How to book

Bookings can be made from Monday 13 March for children with additional needs and disabilities. All other child places can be booked from Monday 27 March.

Places can be booked either over the phone, in person at the Civic Centre or by post. Payment must be made at time of booking.

Book by phone

Call 0191 433 7117 between 8am and 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 5pm on Friday to book your place, you will need to pay at time of booking using a credit or debit card.

Book in person

Call in to the Civic Centre between 8.45am and 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.45am to 5pm on Friday. You will need to pay at time of booking using a credit ordebit card, cash or cheque. Unfortunately, we cannot take credit/debit card payments after 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 4pm on Friday.

Book by post

Complete a booking form and return to the address given below. Booking forms will be available online from Monday 27 March 2017. Payment by post can only be made by cheque which should be made payable to Gateshead Council.

Bookings for children and young people with additional needs or disabilities

If your child has additional needs, please contact us for an extended booking form. This will need to be completed and returned with payment by Wednesday 15 March 2017.

Your application will be reviewed by the Allocation Panel, which consists of professionals who work with children and young people with additional needs and disabilities.

If you are allocated a place you will be sent a letter confirming details of your booking. If your application is unsuccessful payment will be returned.
