The region has a long history of cultural connections across the North Sea. With the 2008 Nordic Festival, Gateshead is proud to welcome singers, dancers, actors, artists and musicians from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
Throughout the Festival week we will host concerts and exhibitions, music for all ages and theatre for young people. With the combined talents of our five Nordic neighbours and our own regionally based artists, craft workers and performers, we will bring the Gateshead Quayside to life as we kick-start the winter festivities.
