Thornley Woods Inside
Inside Thornley Woodlands Centre

The Visitor Centre is in the heart of the woodlands of the Derwent Walk Country Park.

Opening times:

  • Weekends and spring and summer Bank Holidays 12.00pm to 5.00pm
  • Weekdays 12.00pm to 2.00pm

Facilities include displays and information, events, toilets and parking. Off the A694 at Rowlands Gill. Bus stop next to the Centre.



Swalwell Visitor Centre

At the start of the Derwent Walk

Opening times:

  • 10.00am until 5.00pm daily

Facilities include displays and information, events, toilets and parking. On the B6317 beside Blaydon Rugby Club. There is a bus stop beside the access road to the Centre.
