Blaydon Burn Nature Reserve
Community Archaeological Dig

Once the heart of the industrial revolution in Gateshead, Blaydon Burn is a wonderful example of what happens when industry moves away and nature retuns. Over one mile long and covering over 100ha of woodland, grassland and wetland, Blaydon Burn is an unique nature reserve where wildlife co-exisits in one of the region's most important sites for industrial technology.

A new free leaflet showing an easy two and a quarter mile walk is available from Thornley Woodlands Centre| and Gateshead libraries including Blaydon Library| or can be downloaded from the leaflets page|

There are many access points including along from the Black Bull Pub off the B6317, Blaydon.
