The Catering Department provides four separate services within Gateshead Civic Centre as well as providing refreshments to order for officer and Council Member meetings.
Restaurant Service
The civic centre restaurant is currently closed for refurbishment and is expected to reopen in December 2008.
Coffee Shop
The Coffee Shop is located within the main restaurant and serves a limited range of hot and cold snacks and drinks from a service hatch. The Coffee Shop was developed to serve the needs of staff that are in a hurry or want to take their food back to their desk and is open from 9.30am - 2.30pm Monday to Friday.
Vending Service
A vending service is available for members and Council employees attending meetings.
Function Service
The restaurant can be used as a function room outside its normal trading hours. Accommodating up to a maximum of 300 customers for an informal buffet or 250 for a banquet it has a dedicated licensed bar and a portable dance floor.
The function facilities are available for private hire Monday to Friday evenings and all week-ends.
