The more I think about it, the more I realise what a step in the dark it was for the council. We thought of arts before jobs, knowing that one would bring the other. It was an act of faith; but when we started to deliver, funding bodies knew we were solid. We certainly learnt some collective lessons about the importance of having a vision.
