Stephen and Lillian Carrick (married 24 years) from Gateshead who have raised £10,000 to buy a minibus for their sons' special needs school;

David and Lorraine Angell from Boldon (married 33 years) who share their name with the steel structure;

Dennis and Sandra Hush from Berwick (married 21 years) who wanted to remember their son who passed away in the same year as the Angel was erected;

Kevin and Tracey Barker from Washington (married 11 years) who have come through a fight against cancer;

Liam and Diane Weatherill from Hartlepool (married ten years this year) who have raised over £1.5m for charity and battled with a brain tumour;

Right Reverend Mark Bryant, Bishop of Jarrow;

John and Beverley Metcalfe from Cleveland who have fostered over 150 children and are celebrating 30 years of marriage;

David and Kristine Grey from North Shields (married 25 years this year) who were involved in promoting the Angel of the North arriving in Gateshead;

Ian and Charlotte Brown (married ten years) from Washington who were married on the same day the Angel was erected;

Andy and Tracey Black (married five years) – whose father constructed the Angel's head – from Billingham;

Harry and Ruby Minto from Birtley (married 65 years) who met and fell in love near the site of the Angel over seventy years ago;
