We have venues to suit every purpose and occasion whether you are planning a special event, or looking for somewhere to book a conference or a meeting.

Gateshead Old Town Hall

Town-Halll-outsideAn inspiring Grade II listed building which provides a busy and varied programme of Arts events (visit www.gatesheadlibraries.com/whats-on| for listing details), this multi-functioning Hall is also available to hire for a variety of events.

The Main Hall is ideal for concerts, events, gigs and can accommodate conferences, presentations, workshops and large meetings.  It’s also a perfect for wedding receptions or special occasions such as birthday or retirement parties with impressive high ceilings and stained glass detail.

Gateshead Old Town Hall is just a few minutes walk from Gateshead Interchange and Metro Station, making it a convenient and easily accessible venue.  With a capacity of 370 theatre style and approx 170 cabaret style, it’s a well-equipped space with adaptable lighting, PA, fixed stage and grand piano.

 Next to the Main Hall, Bewicks is a licensed café/bar which can be hired with the Hall and seats 50.

Arrangements can be made to cater for events.

A discount of 20% is available to Gateshead Council Services, Gateshead based not-for-profit organisations.

 Gateshead Heritage @ St Mary’s

St Mary’s Church is a Grade I listed building available to hire outside opening hours for receptions, conferences and concerts. A stunning, atmospheric space, although there are some restrictions on what can be permitted in the building. The Main Space has a maximum capacity of 150, plus the Education Space which is ideal for smaller meetings.

Gateshead Central Library

Caedmon Hall

 Situated within Gateshead Central Library, Caedmon Hall is a flexible space with moveable seating, including a raised theatre style tiered seating section.  As well as hosting library and Arts programme events (visit www.gatesheadlibraries.com/whats-on| for listing details) the Hall is also available to hire.  It’s an ideal venue for smaller music events, dance and drama as well as parties, rehearsals, meetings and conferences.

With a capacity of 240 theatre style and approx 110 cabaret style, the hall has excellent acoustics and a wooden sprung floor.

Wheelchair accessible with a lift.  Induction loop available.

Bewicks, downstairs in the library is a licensed café/bar which can be hired with the Hall and seats approx 50.

Community Rooms

Wailes and Dodds Community Rooms are newly refurbished spaces which can also be hired. These function either as two separate rooms or as one room by opening the partition and are ideal for meetings, presentations and talks and come with a plasma screen and small kitchen area.

Discount of 20% available to all Gateshead Council Services, Gateshead based voluntary groups and Gateshead based not-for-profit organisations.
