The West Wind - Laurent Reynes

West Wind|
The West Wind - Laurent Reynes
Kibblesworth

'West Wind' was commissioned as part of its 'Four Seasons' programme for the Year of Visual Arts in 1996. This artwork represents the ‘summer’ season of the project and was inspired by a site visit on a windy day. It consists of 20 pairs of thin beams set vertically in the ground at varying angles. Blue ceramic pieces are, bedded onto these beams creating vibrant washes of colour.

  • From the A1M take the turn-off signed Lamesley;
  • Take the second turn on the right (Moormill Lane) into Kibblesworth;
  • Drive through the village of Kibblesworth;
  • Look for the carved wooden marker signed Bowes Railway by Chris Sell - the West Wind sculpture is sited along the footpath on the opposite side.

Made for Four Seasons.
