Each year the arts team host an artist in residence. The residency is an opportunity for:
-
the artist to develop their own practice;
-
involve Gateshead residents in outreach work;
-
raise awareness of the chosen art form in Gateshead.
Storyteller in Residence
This year we have a storytelling residency with Chris Bostock. He works with a variety of groups in and around the borough, telling and collecting stories from young and old alike.
Chris is interested in how different generations talk to each other and plans to make a collection of stories available on CD at the end of his residency. He is talking and sharing experiences with different Gateshead communities as well as professionals such as Librarians, Community Workers, Youth Group Leaders and Teachers to explore the potential of storytelling in our own home and working lives.
