Qualifications in Team Leading, Management, Leadership and Business Improvement

 

Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQ’s) contribute knowledge and understanding required for the work environment. Using a combination of taught sessions, multiple choice tests and assignments based in on practical activities and knowledge it provides learners with the opportunity to learn new skills.

These qualifications aim to give practising or potential team leaders and managers the foundation for their formal development in this role. The qualification does this by developing basic team leading and management skills and assisting participants in gaining the basic knowledge required at this level.

The VRQ Level 2 Award and Certificate in Team Leading

The mandatory unit for the programme will look at:

  • Managing yourself as a team leader
  • Motivating the work team to perform (certificate only)
  • Planning and monitoring work (certificate only)

There are an additional 21 Units to choose from which deal with:

  • Developing, leading and motivating employees
  • Communicating in the workplace
  • Business improvement and enterprise awareness
  • Health, safety and diversity in the workplace 

The VRQ Level 3 Award and Certificate in Leadership

The programme will look at:

  • Introduction to leadership
  • Leading a team effectively
  • Developing own leadership capacity using action learning

The VRQ Level 3 Award and Certificate in Leadership and Management Skills

This mandatory unit for the programme will look at:

  • Solving problems and making decisions
  • Introduction to leadership
  • Leading a team effectively

There are an additional 15 Units to choose from which deal with:

  • Achieving objectives
  • Writing and presenting business ideas, effective meetings and working with budgets
  • Motivating yourself and others, coaching and communication
  • Managing conflict and stress, health and safety and organisation and delegation

The VRQ Level 2 Award in Introduction to Business Improvement

The programme will look at:

  • Business improvement techniques
  • Achieving objectives in the workplace
  • Using information for action in the workplace
  • Understanding health and safety in the workplace
  • Understanding methods of communicating in the workplace
  • Satisfying customer requirements
  • Understand effective team working

The NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Team Leading and Management

National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s) demonstrate competence in the workplace. Using a combination of assessment, observation and work-related knowledge it provides the employee with the opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed within their job. The programme will look at: 

  • Managing self and personal skills
  • Facilitating change
  • Working with people
  • Using resources
  • Achieving results
