Training Courses

Our experienced team specialise in helping people back to work and can provide a range of services depending on your individual needs. We offer a free, comprehensive back to work service that can build confidence, change your outlook and give you all the skills you'll need to get back into employment.

Training courses available

We run a number of exciting courses that will give you new skills and formal qualifications:

  • childcare;
  • hospitality;
  • catering;
  • construction;
  • travel and many others.

The training we provide is linked to local skills shortages and the traits employers are looking for to give people the best chance of getting a job in the industry.

Work placement

Many of our training courses inlcude a work placement. This gives you the chance to demonstrate your skills and gain important practical experience in the workplace.

When the training is finished we link up with employers looking for staff with the skills and experience you now have.

Length of training courses

The courses last between one day and 20 weeks depending on what you hope to study. The courses are held in accessible local facilities such as community centres, libraries or outreach premises.

How training affects the benefits you claim

The training should not affect your benefits as our courses never last more than 16 hours per week. However, you will need to liaise with your personal advisor at JobCentre Plus and confirm that you are training.

Child-friendly training

As part of the programme we offer FREE childcare with all our training courses. We also try to make the timing of the courses ‘child friendly’ so that parents of older children can fit the training around school hours.

Confidence building

Confidence is a vital part of finding a new job and our sound advice can help build self-esteem and give you all the tools required to win that all important new job.  We will also help you build your CV, fill in application forms and be ready for tricky interview questions.
