It isn’t always easy finding somewhere to live and people often think that applying for a council house or to a housing association for property is the only option available to them.
Unfortunately, there are not enough council and housing association| homes available to everyone that wants or needs one. We understand that many people have a real need for somewhere to live and therefore, provide a range of different solutions to help people find a home.
We can help with finding private rented| accommodation; provide advice regarding shared ownership| schemes; homebuy and sheltered or supported housing|.
The Council also work with private landlords in the Borough and have developed the Private Landlord Accreditation Scheme|. We also provide information for people who may be vulnerable and need help to successfully stay in their homes. Alternatively, your home may no longer be suitable for you due to a medical problem or disability. Once registered onto the council’s housing register you can apply for band one medical priority| to help you move into a suitable property.
