Homeowners could be eligible for financial assistance from the council if they are unable to afford a loan product from a high street lender such as their existing bank or building society. They must provided the council with written confirmation from a financial provider and an Independent Financial Advisor that they have unsuccessfully tried to obtain this sort of funding when they make their enquiry.
Please note that the award of any council loan or grant is subject to the availability of funding. This may vary on an annual basis and in some years funding may be limited or not available.
All loans and grants (excluding Mandatory Disabled Facilities Grant) are provided at the discretion of the council.
