Private Sector Housing Financial Assistance
As part of its Private Sector Housing Financial Assistance Policy Gateshead Council offers financial assistance to enable homeowners to improve their homes to a ‘Decent Standard’ where they are unable to afford to carry out essential works themselves. The Council is committed to making sure that wherever possible the energy efficiency of homes is improved through better insulation, heating systems, and general repair. All such improvements are designed to improve the thermal comfort of the home and to contribute to the governments Decent Home Standard.

Energy Saving Trust
The Energy Saving Trust is a non-profit organisation, funded both by government and the private sector. They are one of the UK's leading organisations set up to address the damaging effects of climate change and they have offices in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Their aim is to cut emissions of carbon dioxide by promoting the sustainable and efficient use of energy.
