The block improvement scheme was one of the most successful projects in our Neighbourhood Action Plans for Bensham and Saltwell, Deckham, Felling and Teams.
Between 2006 and 2011, the scheme:

improved more than 1,500 homes

invested over £10 million in our communities

won national and regional awards for its high standards of work

encouraged owners to invest almost £400,000 on further improvements to their homes

helped improve conditions in private rented properties
The scheme's biggest achievement, though, is making our communities stronger - 90% of residents who took part said they would stay in their neighbourhood for longer as a result of the improvements.
