Training for Landlords

The Private Rented Sector Team via the Gateshead Private Landlords Association ( GPLA ), runs 6 training courses per year for landlords.

These courses are normally free of charge to members of the GPLA or, in the case of full day courses with lunch provided, are offered at substantially discounted rates.

Courses that have been run in the past include Obtaining Legal Possession, The Housing Act 2004, Abandonment, Welfare Benefits and Changes in Housing Law.

The Residential Landlords Association (RLA) also offers training courses for landlords. These are one-day courses held throughout the country and are excellent at covering legal implications for landlords. Further details of these courses can be found at www.rla.org.uk
