In order for you to receive support a referral needs to made to the service.

You can make a self referral by downloading the referral form on the right.

If you are still living with your abusive partner, then please indicate on your referral form if you have any special contact requirements.  For example you may not want any correspondence sending to your main address and may have an alternative address where correspondence can be sent.

Referrals can also be made from the following agencies:

  • The Gateshead Housing Company
  • Voluntary Agencies
  • Gateshead Safer Families
  • Probation
  • Citizens Advice Bureau
  • Women’s Refuge Services
  • Social Services
  • Health Professionals
  • Self-referrals are also accepted.

You can contact some of these organisations by visiting our 'Support - Contacts|' page

What happens next?

If demand for the service is high support workers may not be able to provide support to you immediately.  However, the support workers will contact you to let you know if they can support you straight away or if another organisation can provide support to you.  Initial advice and guidance is always available from the support workers.

If you are offered support immediately an appointment will be made with you to discuss how we can assist you during this difficult time.

If you want any further information about the service you can e-mail the Domestic Violence Support Team|
