Appraisal of the Housing, Renewal and Sustainability needs Of rural areas of Gateshead

Gateshead Council commissioned a Rural Sustainability Study during 2006 which was undertaken by the University of Northumbria and Banks of the Wear. The research aims to develop proposals and options for intervention that will support the long term sustainability of rural communities. READ MORE|


Appraisal of the Housing Needs and Aspirations of Young People

The Council has completed a comprehensive study to determine the housing needs and aspirations of young people and found that the issues to be addressed include affordability of housing, choice and the need to ensure that young people are able to stay in Gateshead and live independent and fulfilling lives. On the basis of this research and in consultation with partners and stakeholders, the Council will incorporate the findings in its housing and support related strategies.

Gateshead 2006 Housing Needs and Social Care Survey
