Housing Strategy 2007- 2012

A study looking at the housing and support needs of people living in the Borough was undertaken during 2006. The information from this research has helped the Council to develop priorities for housing. In consultation with residents; partners and stakeholders, we have used the consultation responses to develop our Housing Strategy for 2007 – 2012.

The Housing Strategy supports the Council's Corporate Priorities by delivering key regeneration projects; attracting more people to live, work , visit and study in Gateshead; it supports more older people and people with disabilities to live independently and will help to build cohesive and diverse communities.
