Live Well Gateshead

Gateshead has some of the highest levels of unhealthy people in the UK. Everyday habits and behaviours - such as eating too much unhealthy food, drinking more alcohol than is recommended, continuing to smoke and not being active enough – are responsible for around 40% of all deaths in England.

It’s never too late to take control of your health.

Where to start

Live Well Gateshead is a free health and wellbeing service, for people who live or work in Gateshead, which will help you make changes in your lifestyle.

They can help you:

  • Quit smoking

  • Get more exercise
  • Eat healthier and lose weight
  • Build your confidence and self-esteem

They could also help you with any underlying social problems such as debt, housing problem or employment problem, which may be holding you back from improving your heath.
