We are responsible for removing graffiti on public land property. This includes council offices and council owned street and park furniture such as lights, signs and benches.
We aim to remove racist or obscene graffiti within 24 hours of it being reported.
Fixed Penalty Notices
Graffiti is an environmental crime. The law authorises our Neighbourhood Wardens and Supervisors to issue fixed penalty notices (FPNs) to anyone caught doing graffiti. If you are prosecuted in court for graffiti you could receive a substantial fine or even a prison term.
