The council is responsible for issuing and enforcing authorisation's for industrial processes to ensure they meet current emission standards for prescribed substances.
All authorisations are entered in the Public Register which also includes details of the processes in the council's area which are authorised by the Environment Agency under integrated pollution control requirements.
