When requested by the health services the council will provide a free collection service for residents undergoing home treatment and from Council Residential Care Centres, which generate clinical waste.
We also provide a chargeable collection service (which includes sharps) from private health care centres, Doctor’s, Dentist’s and Vet’s practices.

Syringes
If you come across a discarded syringe or needle, DO NOT TOUCH IT!
Report the location of the syringe or needle as soon as possible either by telephone using the number provided or by using the online form.

Provide the exact location of the syringe giving details which may include the road number/street name/lamp post number/nearest address, etc.
Your contact phone number would be helpful (although this is optional) as our team may have difficulty in finding the syringe and require a more precise location.
Your request will be dealt with promptly and the discarded syringe collected in a safe storage box before being disposed of with other clinical waste.
