Alternate weekly collections

We introduced alternate weekly collections in March 2012. This means that your household waste bin will be collected one week and your recycling bin the week after.

Rubbish and recycling is already collected in this way in over half of the councils in the UK, and as a result they are recycling more.

We've produced the following guides to help you understand why we are making the changes, how it will affect you and what you can do to manage your rubbish.

Why we are doing this

We need to make savings, lower our impact on the environment & improve recycling rates
