Where Possible please wash and squash your bottles and remove your bottle tops and recycle these separately.
Look out for the following numbers or letters in a recycling symbol on the bottle.

Plastic that CANNOT be recycled
Cartons, such as paper based liquid, food and drinks cartons, cannot be recycled in the plastic banks but there are facilities available for recycling cartons at locations around the borough. (More information on carton recycling|)
At the moment we cannot accept plastic bags, plastic film or plastic packaging from food such as margarine, yoghurts, cream or ready meals. These are made of different types of plastic and we do not currently have a reprocessor who will take this.
