The council’s Post 16 Home to College Transport policy aims to support students over the age of 16 years with exceptional educational needs to participate in appropriate education and where necessary to provide support with travel.
The policy clarifies the basis for decisions on eligibility and states that assistance with travel will be provided at the discretion of the council and be subject to assessment. It aims to achieve a fair allocation of support and make the best use of the resources available and is also aimed at promoting and supporting the development of independent travel skills.
