The Education Welfare Service works with schools, pupils and their families to promote and support regular and punctual school attendance.

The aim of the Education Welfare Service (EWS ) is to ensure that all children of statutory school age in Gateshead have the benefit of access to educational opportunity through regular attendance at school, or otherwise.
