The Head Teacher has said that they are no longer going to authorise my child's absence, what does that mean?

This means that the Head Teacher feels your child is having too much time off school and that the reasons for the absences are no longer acceptable. You should try to talk to the school as soon as possible to resolve the problems about your child’s attendance.

If there is no improvement in your child’s attendance the Head Teacher may now decide to refer your child to the Education Welfare Service.
