The Education Liaison Officer supports the education of Looked After Children and has a particular interest in supporting the use of alternative education packages for older young people.
The job also includes working with the Supporting Families Team and Access and Assessment teams in finding solutions for families and young people experiencing difficulties in education and at risk of becoming Looked After.
As part of the job they will help

Families to attend meetings at school;

Seek the views of young people and their families in the school;

Support re-integration packages to help young people attend school

Attend reviews;

Support young people in attending alternative education packages;

Liaise with social workers, foster carers, teachers and young people to enjoy and achieve at school.
The Education Liaison Officer works closely with the Children’s Rights Service in organising summer football coaching sessions by NUFC and the Kelly Cup 5 a side football competition.
