What is REALAC ?
REALAC stands for Raising the Educational Achievement of Looked After Children, and is a team of people employed by Learning and Children, Gateshead Council, to help young people throughout their school years to enjoy and achieve in education.

What does REALAC do?
We:

are here to help you;
-
ask for your views about education;

provide work experience placements;

find out about how you learn best and the things you might find difficult;

provide revision materials and study skills support;

seek help and advice for you;

help to improve your reading and writing;

help find alternative education packages;
-
help with your Personal Education Plans;
-
help to improve your school attendance;
-
work with your teachers, social workers and others to help;

provide training for people who work with you about education.
