Thinking about a career as a Childminder?
Registered Childminders are over 18 years of age and are self-employed. They work within their own home and provide care, play and learning opportunities to children for more than 2 hours a day. All Childminders work within the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

At Gateshead Council we are pleased to be able to offer Childminder Briefing Sessions twice per year to prospective childminders living in Gateshead. The briefings are free to attend and aim to provide attendees with the opportunity to gain useful knowledge into the role and responsibilities of becoming a childminder. The next Childminder Briefing Session will be held on:
Tuesday 10th January 2017, 18:30 - 20:30 at Tyne View Centre.
