Gateshead Council’s Early Years and Childcare Service are committed to the continued professional development of early year’s childcare providers in the Borough of Gateshead.
The Early Intervention Grant is a government grant that will be used for improving outcomes for children and families. Some of the grant will be used for the development of Early Years Professionals via Graduate Leader Fund (GLF) in private, voluntary and independent early years and childcare settings in Gateshead (GLF terms and conditions 2011-12| apply)
Once again we are able to offer a number of high quality free training courses to private, voluntary and independent childcare providers in Gateshead.

We are pleased to be able to be able to offer prospective childminders regular Childminder Briefing Sessions that are facilitated by experienced Childcare Support Officers. These briefings provide attendees with the opportunity to gain useful knowledge in to the role and responsibilities of becoming a childminder. Briefings are followed by a supportive and informative training programme for new childminders (eligibility and booking criteria apply)
The Early Years Professional (EYP) Network runs termly. Sessions are aimed at EYP’s and those currently on qualification pathways (level 4 and up) to becoming a graduate/EYP.
