Family Learning Strategy

This strategy shows how Family Learning makes a significant contribution to the social, economic and cultural aspirations of Gateshead Council.

The purpose of The Family Learning Strategy is:

  • To enable parents to support their children's learning through engaging the wider family in lifelong learning;
  • To build on Gateshead's tradition of delivering high quality Family Learning activities
  • To encourage partnership working across the Council on a strategic level to ensure that there is a cohesive approach to provision in the borough;
  • To respond strategically to a number of key local and national agendas;
  • To encourage participation in Family Learning from under-represented groups.
