Learners join our courses and keep coming back for a whole range of reasons; we involve people in learning at any time in their lives, learning for life, for pleasure, for work.
The council works in partnership with a number of different organisations to provide courses and learning opportunities. You can find information about the courses in Neighbourhood Learning, which is published once a year, and delivered to all Gateshead households. We also advertise periodically in local newspapers and through other media such as on the Metro and buses.
You can also download a PDF copy of our courses guide on the right hand side of this page.
To view PDF documents on this page you will need Acrobat Reader, which is available as a free download.
The document includes information about the venues, the fees (some courses are free while others have a fee), the reductions and concessions that are available and the enrolment procedures for each venue. Payment can be made by cash and cheque. You can also pay by debit or credit card for courses which are provided directly by Gateshead Council. Staff at the venues and the enrolment sessions will be able to provide further information and discuss any of the courses you are interested in applying for; and provide advice on eligibility for reductions and concessions. You can also contact the adult learning to discuss any queries you may have.
