Pre-Apprenticeships course

  • Are you between 16 and 18 years of age?
  • Just left school?
  • Not sure what you want to do?
  • Need to get on the right track?

If you answered YES to any of these questions then we may be able to help with a  pre-apprenticeship course.  The course will help you with the skills you need to develop your career, and  make you better prepared to find a full employed apprenticeship.

The pre-apprenticeship course:

  • Lasts for 30 weeks and leads to a recognised qualification
  • Gives you the chance to take part in work experience and participate in the functional skills training that will count towards your apprenticeship
  • Helps you prepare you for interviews and applying for a job

The course comprises three main parts:

  • Vocational learning (study of an occupational area), including work placements to help you decide what you want to do
  • Personal and social development building your confidence
  • Functional Skills - English, Maths and ICT up to Level 2

Pre Apprenticeship Programmes are available in the following areas:

  • Administration
  • Hospitality
  • Construction
  • Retail
  • Care

What next?

We can also progress you onto a full apprenticeship through our contacts with employers. When we find a vacancy we will prepare you for the interview and if you are successful we will support you throughout the programme as you work towards your apprenticeship qualifications at Level 2 or Level 3.
