Polling District Review 2014

 

In accordance with the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013, every council in England and Wales must undertake and complete a review of all of the polling districts and polling places in its area within a 16 month period commencing from 1 October 2013

A review of polling districts and polling places in the Gateshead borough concluded in November 2014.

The review evaluated the adequacy of divisional polling district boundaries and the suitability of the polling stations. Through full stakeholder consultation, issues concerning previous arrangements were identified and practicable and desirable alternatives, where necessary, were determined.

As a Council we want to make it as easy as possible for our residents to vote at elections. The next review of polling districts and polling places will take place in 2019
