Local Environmental Services provide a wide range of services in and around people’s homes and in council buildings across the borough such as refuse collection, recycling, street cleaning, parks and open spaces maintenance, cemeteries and crematoria, public rights of way, management and maintenance of countryside recreation sites, pest control, dog wardens, structural highway and street lighting design and maintenance, housing improvements, building maintenance and major schemes. It also provides a number of support services including transport, building cleaning, school and civic catering, facilities management, neighbourhood wardens, security and property protection, environmental and civil parking enforcement.
