Gateshead Council Ethnicity Monitoring

The Race Relations Act places a duty on councils to monitor employment practice in relation to Black and Minority Ethnic groups. As a service provider and major employer, Gateshead Council recognises that it has a moral and legal responsibility to promote equal opportunities. In addition, the Council recognises that the pursuit of equality of opportunity is essential for a productive and professional working environment.

Our goal is equality of opportunity for everyone who lives within the borough, and we will deliver our services and employment practices accordingly.
