Members of the public may notify the council of injury, loss or damage where it is intended to pursue a claim against the council.
You can make your initial notification of the incident by email using the contact details below. On receiving your initial notification it may be necessary to contact you to establish the full details of the incident prior to a claim form being posted or emailed to you.
The claim will be investigated and a report prepared for consideration by the council's insurers.
Please note the council must protect the public funds it handles and may use the information you provide in relation to your claim in the prevention and detection of fraud. The council may also share this information, for the same purposes, with other organisations that handle public funds.

If your claim relates to repairs or other work undertaken by The Gateshead Housing Company please contact your nearest housing office.
