Major Roadworks for Team Valley

Date: 15/07/08

Motorists visiting the Team Valley Trading Estate are warned to expect delays as major resurfacing work gets underway.
Night time road closures will be imposed on Kingsway, the main dual carriageway through Team Valley, from the Coal House Roundabout to the Retail World roundabout from 7.00pm until 6.00am which will mean that the road be closed to all traffic in both directions.

The work starts at 7.00pm this Saturday evening (19th July) and will continue each night until Wednesday night (23rd July). The work is expected to be completed by 6.00am on Thursday 24th July.

Access to the Team Valley will therefore be restricted to the Lobley Hill roundabout and Eastern Avenue during these times.

The road closures are being imposed to allow the road to be completely re-surfaced. Gateshead Council took the decision to undertake the work at night so as to minimise disruption to traffic.

In addition, the roundabout at St George's House, Kingsway and Eastern Avenue will also be closed for resurfacing works from 7.00pm on Friday 25th July and will remain closed until 8.00pm on Sunday, 27 July 2008. Diversion routes will be signposted.

Gateshead Council apologies for any inconvenience these road closures might cause and asks motorists for their patience whilst these essential repairs are carried out.
